This will be a family outing. We have reserved shelter 1. (this can be
found on the above link. The plan is to meet at ST Greg's at 0730 this
Saturday, and depart promptly at 0800, with a return at about 1700 (5pm) .
If you are not there by 0800, we will assume you are traveling
independently. There is no need for a fishing license, as the $3.00 pier fee
covers licensing. We will also be conducting map and compass orienteering,
and plant and animal identification for those that need it for advancement,
or those that are just interested in that sort of thing
What to bring: Fishing poles, tackle and lunch. There are grills available
at the sight, so if you wish to bring burgers, don't forget charcoal.

Troop 490 Calendar of Events Regularly
Troop 490 holds its meetings every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 in the
Knights of Columbus Hall located between the school Gymnasium and Marian
Manor. Please feel free to visit any time.
Troop 490 has been a partner
with St. Gregory the Great Church since 1971. We have all leaned on each
other for support. The "Knights of Columbus" has helped us by supplying a
meeting place for us on Thursday. They have also graciously rented out the
Knights' Hall without asking for compensation. The school has complemented
us with the use of their school grounds for meetings and campouts. The
church has supported us by helping with advertising through popcorn sales and
Scout Sundays.
In payment to the "Knights" and St. Gregory's, the Troop has
completed numerous Eagle Scout Projects on campus. Some of the most recent are
the projects by Kevin M. (the two benches and flower arrangements outside of the
Knight's Hall), Robert O. (the multiple benches along the play fields), and
Marvin L. a work in progress (large bird feeders). We have also done odd
jobs around the grounds. The Troop is also planning to add benches and awnings
to the Food Pantry in the future.
