Pigmy Scouts Boy Scout
Skit

This skit is the funniest we know of. It takes preparation as well as
rehearsal before your meeting. To set up, you will have to have a sheet.
Place someone on each side of the sheet and have them hold the sheet up so the
audience cannot see how the Pigmy Scouts are set up. This skit works with
one or two Pigmy Scouts, but is absolutely hysterical with a row of them.
The Pigmy Scouts never talk.
Behind the sheet, you will need a stool for each Pigmy Scout. The scout
will sit on the stool. Another scout stands immediately behind him and is
wearing a large man's dress shirt. The other scout places his arms on each
side of the Pigmy Scout. A helper will pull the dress shirt around the
Pigmy Scout and button it. Once this is complete, it is time for the legs.
The Pigmy Scout's REAL arms are going to be the legs. Place shoes on each
hand, and drape a sheet over the real arms of the Pigmy Scout. Now drape a
sheet over the scout behind the Pigmy Scout.
Once this setup is complete, what you will see is a Pigmy Scout, whose "arms"
are actually the arms of someone behind them, and whose legs are actually their
own arms with shoes on the hands. The person behind them is hidden and
they look like they are little Pigmy Scouts sitting on a stool. Now it's
showtime!
The Scout Master or other scout says, "OK everyone, it is time to be very
very quiet. We have something very special here. Something you don't
see every day. For I am about to show you the rare and wondrous Pigmy
Scouts. Right now they are sleeping, but I will gently wake them up!"
The volunteers remove the screen and the Pigmy Scouts are sleeping. The
announcer says, "Oh Pigmy Scouts, it's time to wake up!" The Pigmy Scouts
pretend to wake up. The hidden scout behind them is the "arms" - so now
the arms raise up to stretch. The "hands" reach up to the face (carefully)
and rub the eyes to wake up. The announcer leads them through stretches,
jumping jacks - all of this is very funny to watch.
Now the Pigmy Scouts are hungry. The announcer places a cupcake (or
watermelon or anything else a bit messy) in the "hand" of each Pigmy Scout.
The Pigmy Scout is then supposed to eat. What you see is the Pigmy Scout's
arm trying to reach up to the mouth to feed the mouth a cupcake. Cupcake
gets on the face, in the hair, and so forth.
You can have the Pigmy Scouts go through several exercises. We have
tried brushing teeth, but the toothpaste ended up in one of the scout's eyes -
so be sure the "tricks" you put your Pigmy Scout through are safe with no sharp
objects. We have played music and had the Pigmy Scouts dance.
It is best to save the eating for the end because of the mess and they absolute
hysterics involved.
